Author Guidelines

  1. General formal aspects
The works must be sent exclusively in Word format through the OJS platform at www.reaed.unsa.edu.pe They must be unpublished, written in Spanish, with Arial 11 font, 1.5 line spacing, normal margins (2.5 cm top and bottom and 3 cm left and right) and with justified text. A summary and abstract of no more than 250 words and 5 keywords consulted from the UNESCO and/or ERIC Thesaurus must be presented. The title must be written in Spanish.
The maximum length of the article is 8,000 words, including bibliographical references and summary. Both the citations in the text and the list of references must be in APA 7th edition format. The use of footnotes should be avoided; if used, they should be brief.

✓ Cover:  The first page should contain the following aspects:

    • Title: Should be concise but informative, presented in Spanish and English.
    • Abstract in Spanish: Using a maximum of 250 words, briefly describe the work using the following structure: justification and objectives, methodology used, results and conclusions.
    • Abstract in English: Use the same criteria as the abstract. The use of automatic translators is not permitted.
    • Keywords: Below the summary and abstract, add a maximum of 5 keywords that cover the main topics of the study. For this purpose, the UNESCO Thesaurus ( http://vocabularies.unesco.org/browser/thesaurus/es/ ) and the ERIC Thesaurus ( http://vocabularyserver.com/tee/es/?tema=1288 ) are used.

✓ Structure: The works must be submitted without numbering, adhering to the following structure:

    • Introduction: Should include the foundations and purpose of the study, based on a bibliographic review that includes pertinent and relevant literature.
    • Methodology: It will be presented with the precision that is convenient for the reader to understand its context, as well as to understand and validate the basis of the research or theoretical analysis. In the case of research, it must be specific in the description of participants, sample, sampling strategies and type of analysis used.
    • Results: The relevant results of the research are presented, without making value judgments. For this purpose, tables and/or figures can be used in accordance with APA 7th edition regulations, ensuring that they form a logical sequence in the text and that they are a contribution and not a redundancy of data.
    • Discussion: This section should explore the significance and importance of the results, not repeat them, contrasting them with the perspective of other authors.
    • Conclusions: Projections and limitations should be included, linking the conclusions with the objectives proposed at the beginning and generating deductions for future studies. All conclusions should be supported by the results obtained, cautioning against making unfounded statements.
    • References: Bibliographic citations must be listed in accordance with APA 7 standards. They must be ordered alphabetically by the last name of the first author and by year of publication, starting on a separate page and used as a reference to the text, not including bibliography not cited in the text. The number of references must be sufficient to support the work, considering a good foundation for the theoretical framework, the methodology and the analysis of the results, considering a minimum of 30. The use of the APA 7th edition standards and the correct construction of each reference according to the type of document to which it corresponds is considered essential. DOI or retrieval URL must be added to all references to journal articles and documents available in electronic format. Likewise, 50% of the bibliography must be updated considering references from the last 5 years.

✓ Tables: Tables must be incorporated into the Word text in the order in which they appear. They are used to clarify important data and not to duplicate information. They must be longer than one vertical page. Tables must be prepared strictly in accordance with APA format (7th edition).

✓ Figures:  Photographs or images, graphs and diagrams must be indicated as figures. They must be clarified in a relevant way in the text and their number must not exceed six between graphs and tables. They must be presented incorporated into the text, according to their order of appearance, numbered in Arabic and titled with a brief description of their content. Likewise, it must be evaluated whether this does not duplicate the information in the document and that it substantially helps in understanding it; otherwise, it should not be included.

  2. Editorial process

✓ Reception of articles: The works will only be received through the OJS (Open Journal System) platform of the journal. To do so, it is necessary to create a profile as an author, from which you will be guided and indicated the steps to upload your article on www.readed.unsa.edu.pe.
Once the submission is finished, you will receive a notification from the Revista Agustina de Educación of reception, indicating whether the work is rejected or preliminarily estimated for evaluation by experts. In the event that the manuscript presents formal deficiencies or is not included in the thematic focus of the publication, the work will be rejected without the option of return. On the contrary, if superficial formal deficiencies are shown, the work will be returned for correction.

✓ Review by the Editorial Committee: Once the article has been received, it will be assigned to a member of the editorial committee for an initial review of compliance with the regulations of the Revista Agustina de Educación, editorial profile, originality and novelty of the article. Subsequently, if the article complies with this initial review, it will be subject to a blind peer review; otherwise, the article will be rejected.
In addition, in order to maintain the originality of its articles, if the article complies with the above, it is submitted to Ouriginal, an anti-plagiarism software capable of recognizing non-original documents, indicating their source of origin.

✓ Blind evaluation by external peers: If the editorial team determines that the manuscript meets the minimum criteria to continue its review, two blind evaluators are assigned, who, through the Journal's platform, complete the respective evaluation guidelines for the research article. The journal uses a double-blind review, which means that the identity and origin of the authors are anonymous to the evaluators and vice versa.
The evaluation concludes with a decision indicating whether a manuscript is: Accepted, Accepted with minor modifications, Accepted with major modifications, or Rejected. In the event of discrepancies between the evaluators' opinions, the manuscript is sent to a third evaluator and with this third opinion, the editorial committee makes the decision to reject or send the article for modification. This decision will be reported through a letter sent through the platform to the authors' email.
If the work was evaluated positively, either with minor or major modifications, the authors have a period of two weeks to send a new version, which includes the modifications indicated by the evaluators.
The evaluators are academic experts on the subject, external to the Editorial Committee and, preferably, from countries with a geographical location different from that of the authors of the article.

✓ Second round of review: Once the new version has been received from the authors, it is sent anonymously to the evaluators of the first version, in order to check whether the adjustments suggested by them were considered. To do this, the first version, its first evaluation, the new version of the article and the report prepared by the authors regarding the modifications made are sent. Based on this, each evaluator evaluates the new manuscript and indicates to the editor whether new modifications are necessary or whether they consider that the article can now be published.

✓ Final opinion: Once the editor receives the new evaluations from the peer reviewers, together with the editorial team, he/she analyses the overall assessment of the manuscript and proceeds to approve or reject it for publication.
When the reviewers consider that it is still necessary to make adjustments to the manuscript, the editor prepares a new letter with the evaluations, ensuring the anonymity of the experts, which is sent to the authors and the previous process is repeated until the reviewers consider that the manuscript can be published.
Once the article is finally accepted, the authors are sent a letter of acceptance of their article.

✓ Correction of formal aspects: Once the article has been accepted, an evaluation is carried out regarding its formal aspects: spelling, writing, full compliance with the APA 7th edition regulations and correct translation of the title and abstract. After that, it is sent to layout to generate the version for publication.
Prior to publication, the articles will be available to the public, with their corresponding DOI, in the section of articles in press on the journal's website.
