Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Negative Emotional States and Coping Strategies during the state of health emergency (COVID-19) in 91 workers of a private health clinic in the city of Arequipa-2021, whose ages range from 23 to 52 years; This research has a quantitative, descriptive approach with a non-experimental correlational and cross-sectional design. The tests applied were the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21) and the Stress Coping Questionnaire (COPE), concluding that care workers present a significant relationship between their Negative Emotional States and Coping Strategies, likewise, in relation to the prevalence of negative states they present high levels of emotional states of anxiety, depression and stress, as well as , care workers have a greater tendency to use strategies aimed at coping with the problem and other coping styles, highlighting, the significant negative correlation between the active coping strategy and acceptance with emotional states of anxiety, depression and stress, and on the contrary, a significant positive correlation of the strategy turning to religion and denial with emotional states of anxiety, depression and stress.
