The impact of leadership in companies: a literature review 2018 – 2022

This bibliographic review aims to analyze the impact of leadership in companies during the period 2018 - 2022. The study used a systematic literature review to analyze leadership in companies. Search filters were applied between 2018 and 2022, selecting only scientific articles with open access and using relevant keywords. 385 articles were found in Emerald Insight, 732 in EBSCO host, 322 in Scopus and 375 in Redalyc. After applying content and relevance criteria, 30 articles were collected. Mendeley Desktop was used to manage citations and references in APA 7 format. As a result, the importance of leadership in organizational and social development was highlighted, highlighting its influence on innovation, creativity, and employee commitment. Emphasis is placed on the need for transformational, authentic, and humble leaders to drive business success and foster a culture of innovation. In addition, the relevance of ethical and participatory leadership in organizational effectiveness is highlighted. Culture, values and diversity also play a crucial role in the relationship between leadership and business performance. It was concluded that the systematic review of scientific articles on leadership has confirmed its importance in the achievement of organizational objectives and the well-being of employees. Key leader qualities, adaptation to context, diversity, and factors such as feedback, humor,
and humility are highlighted. The need for further study of how leadership affects specific groups and the underlying mechanisms of its impact is noted.
