Abstract

SDG4 promotes progress through digital transformation. This is essential to ensure inclusive, equitable, and quality education. Sustainable Development Goal 4 seeks to ensure and promote inclusive and quality education for all. In a society that is constantly changing and updating,
developing digital skills in university teachers is crucial. This study aims to investigate the
integration of digital competences in the teaching staff of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Central University of Ecuador. For this, 50 teachers and 50 students from the educational community participated and 13 open questions were designed, and its responses analyzed using Atlas ti software. Therefore, results showed that teachers use interactive multimedia resources, virtual platforms, and digital tools in their classrooms. On the other hand, students agree that teachers use multimedia resources such as presentations, videos, etc. However, it is a challenge for government and educational system to propose alternatives to enhance ongoing teacher
education to decrease digital gaps and maximize the benefits of ICT.
