Policy on the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence
The journal requires authors to transparently disclose the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools in the preparation of their manuscripts to ensure academic integrity, transparency, and accountability in scientific research.
Authors must disclose whether they have used generative AI tools for writing or editing texts, translation, image generation or modification, data analysis, code development, or any other activities related to manuscript preparation. This disclosure must specify the name of the tool used, its purpose, and, where applicable, the extent of its involvement.
The use of AI tools does not exempt authors from their responsibility for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and final content of the submitted work. Authors must verify AI-generated information, check bibliographic references, and ensure that no false data, fabricated citations, confidential information, or content that infringes third-party rights is included.
Artificial intelligence tools may not be listed as authors or co-authors of manuscripts, as they cannot assume responsibility for the published content. Ultimate responsibility for the work rests with the human authors.
If no generative AI tools have been used in the preparation of the manuscript, authors are encouraged to include an explicit statement indicating that such tools were not used.
The journal may request additional clarification regarding the use of these technologies during the editorial process. Failure to comply with this policy may be taken into consideration during editorial evaluation, in accordance with scientific integrity standards and the journal's publication policies.
This policy applies to all manuscripts submitted to the journal and may be updated as international recommendations on the responsible use of artificial intelligence in scholarly communication evolve.
